The 10-chapter book depicts the challenges and successes of Carlito, the main character in the book.  Carlito is faced with some big decisions about who he is hanging out with and how will he pursue his own dreams.  His parent have even bigger decisions to make if they are to parent their son in a different style than how they parented their daughters, Graciela and Rosa.

This book is used in our Youth Violence Prevention Program to help parents identify challenges they may not know about.

This book is a sequel to Graciela’s Dream: One Family’s Journey to College.
